He never felt the need to track her again.
A year ago, Sawyer and Juliet as the Adam and Eve felt so wrong. Now it feels so right, at least in the wonderful way you have captured it here.
The idea that Sawyer just discovered he has a heart makes him the Tin man of this tale. A perfect metaphor for his transformation on the island.
His heart. It was long gone now. Dead and buried in the smoldering wreckage of their last hope.
What a stunning line. Even though Sawyer is resigned and regretful of his fate, he is not alone and that makes this still a hopeful story. Great work!
