Great fic. Truly loved it. That scene of theirs in the finale was just so bleak and an insane shade of beauty. It's heartbreaking that their selflessness leaves them there, and both are left to think that their friends and Jack and Kate are dead.
He never asked her where she went.

and the two would toast to their misery. To their dead friends. To being alive.
Then he would take her face in his hands and brush the tears from her eyes with this thumbs, and their bodies would fall into one another. And it felt safe. And they could hide. And they could forget.
